Q&A with Mcintosh quarterback Tate Morris
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“So far the season has not started the way that we had hoped, however, I feel that as a team we have made great strides in a positive direction on both sides of the ball and we are going to surprise some teams for the remainder of the season.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“For the most part I have been pleased with my performance, especially being a 2nd year quarterback. I am still learning some things and the ins and outs of the position but overall I have been pleased.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“I feel that we have played well at times and poorly at times on both sides of the ball. I feel like we are much better than our record and that we really could be 3-1 if we could erase a couple of mistakes during games. With a new coach and scheme it has been a learning process but we are getting better every week.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I feel like we can improve on both sides of the ball. There is always room for improvement no matter how good you may be performing. Offensively I need to have a better completion rate and get us in the end zone more. Defensively I feel like we are there where we need to be, we just need to tackle better at times.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“The keys for our success are going to be to continue to learn and excel in the new schemes that we have on both sides of the ball. We just need to improve each week in all areas of the game. Another key is to be able to keep everyone healthy and focused on the task at hand each day on the field during practice and game time.”

“The keys for our success are going to be to continue to learn and excel in the new schemes that we have on both sides of the ball. We just need to improve each week in all areas of the game. Another key is to be able to keep everyone healthy and focused on the task at hand each day on the field during practice and game time.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I am open to playing either sport [football and baseball] and I love them both. As I’m learning and growing in the QB position, I feel l have what it takes to play at the next level. I want to go where there is the best opportunity to play and also be a good fit academically.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“At this time I really feel like I am not known in the college aspect of football. Honestly this is my second year of playing football since I was in the 6th grade at Booth Middle School and at that time being a 6th grader, I really never played, I was just there, before that I had not played since I was around 9 years old and I played linebacker. As I continue to excel this season, I feel I will get my shot at the next level.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“None at this time. I feel like if this season continues at this pace and success then that’s going to change.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have made a few trips to different colleges, performing in baseball showcases.”

Do you have plans for game day trips?
“At this time I do not have any commitments for game day trips however I do plan on using all of my game day official visits that are allowed by the NCAA.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“That would have to be University of Georgia.”
