Find out what some of the top players in the state are saying about football and sports now!

......................................................................................................

Q&A with Ware County wide receiver Tayshaun Franklin
How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season didn’t go as I wanted it to but we did have some positives to add on to for next year.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I just finished basketball and now I’m running track but I plan to get faster and bigger in the offseason and come back and make a big impact.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel really good about our team next year, we go into a new region/classification, we return a lot of talent. We lost some good guys and some leaders and we learned a lot from them. We will be a strong unit next year.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think we have a tough schedule, we can’t look past anyone.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“[There’s] so many guys that are tough in this region, it’s hard to say.”

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Heard County quarterback Ethan Tisdale
How did the high school football season go overall?
“We were a very young team that played a lot of freshmen and sophomores, so we took our lumps early. We finished second in the region and made the playoffs for the 19th straight year.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I play basketball and run track, too. We made it to the 2nd round of playoffs but hoops ended, so now I’m moving to track for the spring. We are getting after it in the weight room as a team and getting ready for the state weight meet this weekend. We are a small school, so we do a spring football combine in May, and then summer workouts will start after dead week. I work with my trainer, JR Revere, each week, have some QB camps planned this off season, and will be doing some college camps this summer.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I’m excited about the new season. Like I mentioned, we had a lot of young guys play last year so we are going to build on that. We are also in a new region, which is going to be a great challenge for us. Heard County HS is building a new weight room and covered facility, and getting new turf at the stadium, so there’s a ton of work being done on campus that adds to the anticipation for the 2024 season.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We haven’t played some of the teams in our new region, but I know there are some really solid teams up in the Rome area, and Bremen is always well coached. We also scrimmage Central Carroll and play back-to-back state champs Bowdon.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“CJ Gray at Temple is a DUDE and Kaiden Prothro from Bowdon isn’t bad either. I like and respect both those guys a lot.”

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Thomasville outside linebacker Keymon Jefferson
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall [the] season went ok, it wasn’t how I expected it to go but it is what it is. We have some work to do.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans for this off season are to cut up and get faster point blank period.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“If my team doesn’t win state next year [there’s going to] be some problems, we have too much talent to not make it to game 15.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The toughest team on our schedule is us, we can only beat ourselves.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“We’re all human, they bleed just like we bleed, no one is too tough, [we’re] on whatever with whoever.”
