Q&A with Lovejoy defensive tackle Antoniyo Smith
How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Everything is going great as of right now.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“My team could improve on communication, being aggressive, and minimizing mistakes on offense.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“For the most part, yes, I have been pleased with my performance.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“We play very well when the communication is there.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“I’m trying to get recruited more and get my name out there and become the best at my position.”

Q&A with Fellowship Christian School athlete Evan Haynes
How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Everything was good over the course of the season. We just recently got knocked out of the playoffs by a good Pierce County team.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“Right now our team needs to continue to grow in the weight room and continue to mature. We also need to focus on getting our younger guys to fill the gaps that we are losing from our seniors.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“I think I stepped up this year in all 3 phases of the ball. Not every game went how I wanted it too but I still made plays and did my job and at the end of the day that’s all you can ask for.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“Our team performed very well over the season. We kept within ourselves and used our strengths to our advantage. There were times where things didn’t always go our way but we were good at making the necessary adjustments week by week.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“My goals are to continue to work and get better at football, but as of right now I am on the basketball team and I am transitioning into that season. In the spring I play lacrosse and I run track so I will also be participating in those sports this year. I think taking time away from football and doing other things that I enjoy is very important.”

Q&A with Mary Persons defensive lineman Gevone Sands
How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Football was great.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“We should continue to improve on bonding.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“I’ve had a great season this year.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“My team played very well this past season, and [I’m] looking forward to having an amazing season next year.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“My goal is to have an amazing senior season ending my high school career.”

Q&A with North Forsyth right tackle Dylan Villarouel
How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Football is moving along, getting stronger, expanding my knowledge of the positions and techniques.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“Definitely the little things. As a group when we all play and are linked up we play like a championship team and that comes from focusing on our own jobs and knowing what to do, how to do it, when to do it.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“I’m never satisfied because I always know I can improve and be better than the next guy, which is the goal.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“When we are glowing, we play really well but as a team we lack the ability to maintain momentum.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“Go to college to play football.”

Q&A with Gainesville running back Mikel Stephen
How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Just finished with a great season but we came up short in the third round of the playoffs against Woodward Academy, but I can’t let that bother me, still got to keep working.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“My team can keep improving on leadership going forward, because our senior class had great leadership and it’s only right for us to match their leadership since they are leaving.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“For the most part, yes, I have some efficiencies I need to work on like pad level, being more patient, and reading the whole better.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“I feel like my team needs to start off hot because (mainly offensively) it takes us a couple drives to get going, but outside of that I think we are great.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“My sporting goals going forward right now are to attack the weight room because I want to be 190 going into spring ball, and having a breakout sophomore year, leading the state in rushing.”
