What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Running track and also just getting my running form straightened up.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“Honestly I have improved so much on awareness and vision because last year was me just getting the ball and running.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“My team, honestly, we have all the tools we need but have to place [them] in the right places for the team to become a Thanksgiving-playing team.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“American Heritage & Grayson.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Brandon Inniss.”

Q&A with Athens Christian School quarterback DJ Walker
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I’ve been doing lots of footwork, speed and quarterback training as well as 7v7.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I feel I have improved most on my speed and anticipating throws.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel like my team is going to compete and work really hard and have a positive playoff season.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I feel like Rabun County will be our toughest competition this year.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I honestly don’t know who the toughest player will be.”

Q&A with Norcross defensive tackle Shakwan McKnight
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“My speed is greater.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel we have a really good team, and [we] are going to be a threat to everyone.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I wouldn’t say anyone is tougher than anyone else, but Mill Creek is going to be intense.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“The toughest player will be Kaleb Downs because of the fact we have to deal with him on the north side of the ball.”

Q&A with Denmark quarterback Jacob Nelson
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Lots of preparation really. My main focus has been on building strength and improving my nutrition to stay healthy and help my team reach our goals.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I think that being the starter as a sophomore last season gave me a chance to play in some big games and let the game slow down a little bit. Since the season ended, these experiences have given me the opportunity to improve my leadership abilities off the field and during spring practice.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel like we have the opportunity to pick up where we left off. We have a great senior class with a ton of experience coming back. The last two seasons have shown that we are a talented group that is going to play hard, that’s what we’re most concerned about.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our coaches have done a great job of setting up our schedule to challenge us early and see where we are as a team. Our region was no slouch in any way with teams like South Forsyth, Lambert, and West Forsyth. But adding Milton to that along with non-region games like Roswell, Pebble Brook, and Harrison, I don’t think you can pick just one game. We’re going to have to show up every Friday night.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Again with this schedule I don’t think you can pick one. Of course you have to mention Ethan Nation at Roswell, Pebble Brook has multiple D1 kids as well. It’s going to be interesting.”

Q&A with Trinity Christian quarterback Josiah Jarrett
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Outside of Trinity football spring workouts, my main focus lately has been getting more flexibility and mobility added to my game for the fall season. I started a new program with a 1 on 1 trainer at D1 sports in Peachtree City GA. I will be doing that 3x a week after practice.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“Since I am transferring to a new school, my focus is winning the starting job at Trinity but I am a senior and so my focus will be executing a new offense/ learning the playbook. Individually I want to improve on my rotational core strength and footspeed.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think a lot of people underestimate our team. Last year they won state and although we lost a lot of seniors, we have a new set of seniors like me who have been playing varsity since 9th grade. I think we will be a top performer in our region.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Woodward Academy. At least that's what everyone is telling me. I've played them at least 4 to 5 times in my career. The last time I played them I was hurt so I am excited for this time. I am not intimidated at all.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I am not honestly really sure yet. But I personally know a player at Whitewater HS. I've played against him several times. He plays LB and he is an elite athlete.”
