Q&A with Duluth quarterback Lonnie Ratliff IV

What have you and your team been doing as of late to get ready for the fall?
“We have been doing a lot we’re very fortunate to have an off-season to prepare because of COVID changed things for us last year. This summer the team went to Georgia tech for a 7v7 tournament which we made all the way to the championship. Also, we have been to Kennesaw State 7v7, and we got to tour the great facilities and have a great time.”

What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“I feel like coming off of last year my ball placement has been better. Know where to throw the ball on the receiver so they can have more success.”

How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I’m confident we will have a great season this year. I think we have a great core of players. 3 years ago, we were a young team but now we’re stronger, faster and wiser.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our toughest competition is probably Norcross because they have a good program and seem to always be competitive.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
"N/A."

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I would love to play college football. I can play other sports, but football is what I gravitate the most to.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Right now, Army, Columbia, Yale, Kennesaw State, Charleston.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Army is recruiting me the hardest. I am blessed to receive an offer from them.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“Yes, I have made college trips and they were all great. I loved seeing the campus and meeting players and coaches from each school.”

What camps did you attend this summer? How did the camps go overall?
“The camps I attended this summer are the Virginia, Yale, and Kennesaw State camp. I did great. I feel like I did a great job of making every rep count out there.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I didn’t really have a favorite college growing up, but I love the story of Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray and Oklahoma.”
