Q&A with Westside quarterback James Neville
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Good, amazing freshman season. [I had] 128 pass completions, 1,922 passing yards and 18 touchdowns.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I’m currently lifting weights every day after school and I get a little field work 4 days out of the week, also I’m looking for a 7v7 team.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel next year our team will go really far. I will definitely try to lead us all the way, I think we have a very good chance. [We have] a lot of advanced first team all-region players returning.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The team that may be the toughest this year [is] maybe Perry, a good disciplined team but I think we will pull it off.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“#5 the running back from @baldwin.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“I think the season went decent, we could’ve done better. Last season our team was pretty young and full of first time starters.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans are to get bigger and faster over the offseason. I’ve been in the weight room ever since the rising senior bowl.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel the team would do great, we are returning the whole defense and most of the offense. Some big things [are] planned for the upcoming season.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think it’s between Stephenson or Tucker.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I don’t [think] we’ll face one tough individual.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall this season could’ve gone much better. It was an unfortunate situation with my coaches’ position planning and how our goals aligned for the team.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Right now I’m running track and attending football camps when available; I have a weight training class during school to stay on top of my workouts as well.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“With our team consisting mainly of seniors, I feel it will take time to adjust to the change but if we adjust the correct way then me and my team can go a long way.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“As our city rivals and our biggest competition every year, I feel that Stockbridge will be our toughest competition.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“To be honest I can’t say who our toughest individual competitor will be. Football is a team sport so being a great individual means very little if your team can’t perform.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“I’d say the season went very well. We placed second in our region, coming up short against Langston Hughes and surprised a lot of people.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am grinding hard every day in the weight room and also speed and agility workouts to improve my skills and gain some division 1 offers.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel like our team can be good, we just have to overcome some things since our head coach decided to take his great talents elsewhere.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Langston Hughes by far.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Air Noland.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“The high school football season went well overall but me, my teammates, and coaches believed it could have ended way better or the way we wanted.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans for sports and workouts are just to fix or improve on the things I can improve on and continue to run track and lift hard for this upcoming season.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel as if we will be back in that same position but this time we will be able to step up to the challenge and bring the trophy home.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The toughest team on our schedule has to be Carrollton, every year we play them they bring their best and make it hard for us the whole game so I would have to say them.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“N/A.”
