How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season went well. We had a lot of key players transfer out and a lot of young guys had to step up and we played well in quite a few games but did not get as many victories as we would have liked but we did make the playoffs and that was good for the program.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I work basically year-round to keep my body in condition for the season. I don't play 7 on 7 because as an ILB it creates bad tackling habits and is not realistic for the position I play. I work on a lot of speed and agility from January to August. I also have put on around 15 pounds since the end of the season. I played at 195 my junior year and I want to be between 215 and 220 this year. I am also working to be a better (more vocal) leader this year.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we are going to be good. I think you will see a considerable improvement in our offense now that we have some experience and we have to replace Zion Rutledge, Knox Henderson and Tyler Green on defense, even though it will not be easy to fill their shoes, we have some GUYS that are ready to step in and make plays.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Carrollton, hands down. They are loaded. We played them as tough as anyone last year but they are a good team with a ton of talent.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“JuJu Lewis from Carrolltonlives up to all the hype. He has a great arm and he knows how to get himself out of trouble in the pocket and still find the open man. Also, RJ Echols at McEachern is a beast on both sides of the ball. I played park ball and middle school ball with him and he is the only person I know that may work harder than I do to get better in the offseason.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I want a shot to play college football. I love the sport and everything it teaches me about life and teamwork.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have had conversations with GT, Auburn, Kent State, Mercer, App. State and Georgia State.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“No schools that I know or recruiting me hard.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“Yes, I have visited Mercer, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Florida State and Kennesaw State.”
Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“We are working on some visits currently.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I am an Alabama fan. I love the team and the way they play.”
